Sunset – requiem on the Gathering

The story so far

House into shed, tenant into house, car sold, Brisbane / Sydney / Joburg / Durban / Seaforth Farm B&B / Howick / Impangele B&B / Glengarry (repeat) arrival of 19 family members from 5 countries / braai and beers / wine Savanna (repeat x3)

So in a whirlwind of dust, goodbyes and slamming doors it was over. Many months of planning by Dee created this amazing congregation of family. Some of us headed off to Nottingham Road for a birthday breakfast for Kylie (and Greg) and then it was the final sets of farewells before Jen and I returned to Glengarry.

Now everyone has drifted off and back into their lives again. Some we will see again on our travels and some maybe never again.

It is fantastic to see the differing lives people have created for themselves in different parts of the world and what great people they all are.

Glengarry is so very different with everyone gone, even the weather has turned cold, wet and rainy. We plan to do some walks, some relaxing and reading before we head off to Linda and George’s on Thursday. Oh yes, and drink some beer. Yes definitely some beer.

So it leaves just Jen and I here at Glengarry to get on with our new lives, which will be largely dominated by this – our new home.
